We believe we can find a cure for cancer within our lifetime by using the power of business to generate cash to fund cancer research.
We give people a choice about what happens with the profits from the purchases they make.
Today we sell headphones and hoodies. Tomorrow we will open a bank.
Beat Cancer was launched on 1 November 2018 via a crowdfunding campaign and came to life on 26 November 2018 when we reached our $30,000 funding goal. The funds were used to purchase our first order of 500 Beat Cancer Founder Series Headphones. The order was placed on 1 January 2019.
This initial funding allows us to establish a sustainable business that will fund cancer research for years to come.
Which charities receive the profits from Beat Cancer Headphones? You can help decide!
Our strategy is to partner with a number of charities over time. We will aim to partner with a single charity for a fixed period that aligns to the charity’s main fundraising efforts and give them the profits from Beat Cancer that are earned in the period.
Here are a few examples that we have identified:
Cancer Council Daffodil Day
It would be great to partner with the Cancer Council for Daffodil Day. We would donate all profits for August and September. We could also consider creating a special yellow pair of headphones for the campaign!
McGrath Foundation Pink Test
We would love to partner with the McGrath Foundation for the Pink Test and donate all the profits for Beat Cancer for January. We think our pink headphones tie in really well with the Pink Test.
Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness and Research Center
We could partner with the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness and Research Center during Run Melbourne or The Wellness Walk & Research Run and donate the profits for the months in which these events are held. Given Olivia Newton-John’s relationship with the music industry, we see some great synergies with Beat Cancer Headphones.
You can help decide who receives our profits
We are still looking for charity partners, as such, you can play a key role in deciding who receives our profits. If you have a charity that means a lot to you and you can connect us with their ‘fundraising decision maker’ CEO et cetera we would love to talk to you about setting up a relationship where we donate our profits to the charity during their main fundraising period.
Please contact us if you are interested or if you have any questions.
